Support Services Department Summary:

Support Services is responsible for keeping the premises of South Beach Casino & Resort in a clean, orderly and safe for overall guest satisfaction. This is achieved by having a diverse team of Housekeepers, Groundskeepers, Maintenance Technicians, Room Attendants, Laundry Attendants, Lobby Attendants and Security Officers that ensure our facility presents well.

Summary of Related Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Promotes positive customer relations by providing prompt, courteous and efficient service to all patrons and guests
  • Cleans gaming floor, bathrooms, hotel lobby, hotel rooms and back offices
  • Empties and cleans wastebaskets and transports waste to disposal area
  • Replenishes bathroom supplies, and replaces light bulbs
  • Maintains and repairs resort including plumbing, electrical, heating, cooling or ventilation systems, machinery and landscaping
  • Respond to service calls and conducts routine inspections
  • Ensures property ensuring a pleasant looking atmosphere, inside and outside
  • Sustains constant vigilance to ensure the safety of patrons, employees and resort assets
  • Performs other duties as deemed necessary

Some Qualifications and Requirements:

A strong teamwork attitude with initiative and motivational skills accompanied with prior experience in a support service role is required. Attention to detail with thoroughness and work ethic is also needed. Physically you need to be able to bend, lift, move and operate equipment at various heights on a day to day basis. Some positions require secondary education.

The incumbent must obtain and maintain approval from the Liquor and Gaming Authority of Manitoba (LGA).

  • Soft Count Clerk

    Soft Count team members are responsible for collecting, sorting and counting of all paper money and ticket redemptions accumulated from slots machines. The Soft Count Clerk works closely with fellow team members, Security and Surveillance department to ensure the protection of resort revenues from slot machines.

  • Soft Count Supervisor

    The Soft Count Supervisor is responsible for assisting the Cage Director in the successful operation of the Soft Count Team by ensuring that all standards and policies are being followed. Promotes and encourages positive teamwork.

  • Security Officer

    The Security Officer Role is to protect overall resort assets including patrons, guests, property and employees by observing all activity, deterring potential problem situations and reporting out of the ordinary activity while maintaining confidentiality. By adhering to policies and procedures Security Officers will also ensure fire and emergency situations are handled in the best way ensuring everyone is out of harms-way.

  • Security Shift Supervisor

    The Security Supervisor assures that all phases of security are maintained and adhered to ensuring safety for all employees, visitors, guests and patrons throughout the Resort while supervising a team. The Security Supervisor ensures that all required reporting is done accurately, on time and communicated to Director on a regular basis as well as other key management members as required or needed. Additionally, Supervisors observe patrons and guests participating in gaming activities to detect infractions of house rules and reports accordingly any breech of policies or procedures.

  • Surveillance Operator

    The Surveillance Operator is responsible for protecting the assets and interests of South Beach Casino & Resort. Monitors all guests and employees of the resort via video camera to ensure that all rules and policies are been followed and detects infractions of house rules and provincial laws regarding gaming activity. Also records and reports any irregular gaming activity or behaviours within the resort.

  • Surveillance Supervisor

    The Surveillance Supervisor is responsible for protecting the assets and interests of South Beach Casino & Resort by ensuring all department procedures and policies are adhered to. Monitors all guests and employees of the resort via video camera to ensure that all rules and policies are been followed and detects infractions of house rules and provincial laws regarding gambling activity. Also records and reports any irregular activity.

  • Accounting Assistant/Accounts Payable

    The Accounting Assistant/Accounts Payable person performs various general accounting duties, including but not limited to accounts payable processing, G/L reconciliation, and other special projects as required in accordance with established policies and procedures within the department.

  • Revenue Auditor

    The Revenue Auditor performs various duties as assigned, including but not limited to the Revenue Audit. Verifies accuracy of figures, calculations, and postings pertaining to business revenue transactions recorded by employees of revenue-generating departments and the Cage.

  • Human Resource Generalist

    The Human Resource Generalist administers procedures, practices, policies for all employees within the Resort. Maintains relationships for positive employee relations; actively participates in Health & Safety; maintains all benefit and recognition programs. Interviews, hires and trains as requested by department Managers.

  • Slot Technician

    The Slot Technician installs, maintains and repairs electronic gaming equipment for South Beach Casino & Resort facilities for ultimate electronic game play. Additionally, Slot Technician’s provide regular maintenance on all equipment related to Cage operations.

  • Graphic Artist

    The Graphic Artist produces visual, print and web solutions that communicate promotions, highlights events and resort information to a diverse clientele, using a mix of multi-media tools through creative skills and commercial awareness. Additionally, the Graphic Artist will pre-plan, direct and coordinate marketing activities with Marketing Director using past history and current trends.

  • Casino Housekeeper

    Housekeepers are responsible for keeping the premises of South Beach Casino & Resort in a clean and orderly condition for overall customer satisfaction. These duties include polishing slot machines, washrooms and back office areas. In addition to regular housekeeping duties interaction with customers at a customer service level is expected and necessary in a positive and courteous manner.

  • Casino Housekeeping Supervisor

    The Casino Housekeeping Supervisor leads and manages housekeeping department to ensure clean, orderly, and attractive conditions of the South Beach Casino for all guests, patrons and visitors by performing a series of duties personally or through subordinate team members, casino housekeepers.

  • Groundskeeper

    The Groundskeeper maintains and keeps the facility and surrounding property in a beautiful manner by performing various duties. This position is also a part-time back-up for the Facilities Maintenance Technician, which duties are, performed in addition to the incumbent’s regular position duties.

  • Maintenance Technician

    The Maintenance Technician role is imperative to our overall mission vision and values. It’s the Maintenance Technicians responsibility to ensure our facility is running smoothly for all guests, patrons and visitors overall comfort, enjoyment and safety. This position is also a back-up for the Facilities Groundskeeper.

  • Lobby Attendant

    The Lobby Attendant is responsible ensuring that the hotel front lobby is maintained cleaned while promoting excellent customer service. In addition to regular duties interaction with customers at a customer service level is expected and necessary in a positive and courteous manner.

  • Laundry Attendant

    The laundry attendant is responsible for processing all hotel linen from washing to folding. Additionally, the laundry attendant maybe called upon to assist with laundry pick up from rooms or floors involving direct customer service to guests.

  • Room Attendant

    Room Attendants are responsible for overall guest satisfaction in the delivery of superior cleanliness of all rooms, hallways, and common traffic areas. Thoroughly cleans the required amount of rooms, in the time allotted in the support and achievement of occupancy rates. Ensures cleanliness standards meet within all rooms of the Hotel.
